Rabelo Boat on the Douro River

Formerly used as cargo boats, these rabelo flat-bottom boats are no longer used but are now owned by port wine companies in Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal. Once a year during the São João festival, the Rabelo Boat Regatta quickly sail up the river to cover the section of the Douro at Porto.
